(Partial Listing)

Sheryl Field has been dedicated to the Feldenkrais Method since the mid 1970's, when, while still in high school, she attended a workshop taught by Moshé Feldenkrais.  She continued her involvement through her college years and graduated from Dr. Feldenkrais's second North American Professional Training Program in 1983.  Sheryl has had a full time private practice for over 20 years. She is widely recognized for her success with children who have brain injuries and developmental issues, and adults who are in the competitive and performing arts. Sheryl has been an Assistant Trainer since 1995, and has worked closely with David Zemach-Bersin for many years in her role as the Continuity Assistant for the New York City and New Jersey Feldenkrais Method Training Programs.  She is director of the Field Center in Montclair, NJ, where her work with children is documented as part of a National Institutes of Health study.  Sheryl lives with her family in New Jersey.

Anna Johnson Chase is a graduate of Moshé Feldenkrais's first US training program and has been a Feldenkrais Practitioner since 1977.  For over 15 years, she has taught as an Assistant Trainer in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and throughout the US.  Anna came to this work from a background in theater and has worked extensively with instrumentalists, actors, dancers, and people with a wide range of disabilities.  Anna is motivated by a great curiosity for how people learn and change.  She lives with her family in New York City.

Carol Kress is an Assistant Trainer who brings her experience of an ongoing and varied private practice to the program.  In addition, her work is informed by her long time involvement in the equestrian art of dressage, and her practice of the martial art of Aikido for which she holds a black belt.  Since finishing her Feldenkrais training program in 1993, Carol has been an associate of Elizabeth Beringer and David Zemach-Bersin, and together they are the owners of Feldenkrais Resources. Carol is the Continuity Assistant in the Feldenkrais Resources' Berkeley, California Training Programs and lives in Marin County and San Diego County, California.

Marcy Lindheimer has a B.Mu. degree in music from USC, and a Masters Degree in Musicology from Northwestern University.  Previously professor and music department chairperson at a Midwestern liberal arts college for 13 years, she currently maintains a private practice in voice and the Feldenkrais Method in New York City.  Marcy is Director of the Feldenkrais Learning Center of New York and is on the faculty of the Historical Performance Department at Mannes College of Music.  A Feldenkrais Practitioner since 1987, Marcy is an experienced Assistant Trainer and specializes in working with children and musicians in her private practice.

Olena Nitefor, M.Ed., has been a Feldenkrais Practitioner since 1987 and was certified as an Assistant Trainer in 1995. She has taught in Feldenkrais training programs throughout the world and maintains an extensive private practice where she primarily works with adults in long-standing and intractable pain.  Olena has over 20 years of experience teaching anatomy and has devised a special anatomy curriculum for Feldenkrais training programs which is a highly popular part of our programs.  Olena lives with her family in Toronto, Canada.

Aliza Stewart, M.Mu., was trained as a concert pianist and performed extensively in Israel, England and the U.S. She holds a teaching degree and Artist Diploma in Performance from the Rubin Academy in Israel. Her search for more efficient, relaxed movement patterns at the piano brought her to Moshé Feldenkrais in 1980. She completed her Feldenkrais training in 1987 and became an Assistant Trainer in 1996. Aliza has worked closely with David Zemach-Bersin for many years as his assistant in his trainings. Aliza is well known for applying the Feldenkrais Method to her work with musicians. She teaches Feldenkrais classes and graduate courses at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and at the Mannes College of music in Manhattan. She is also in residence at the Yellow Barn Music Festival and the Marlboro music festival. In her private practice, both in Baltimore and in New York, she works with a wide range of clients, including children and has an active teaching and lecturing schedule.

In addition to these faculty, guest lecturers from related fields occasionally address the training program.  These invited teachers, scientists or thinkers will broaden your understanding of the Feldenkrais Method, your sense of its relationship to the arts and sciences, and your appreciation for the future development of the work.
